The TOP SHOP® Process in 2008

ENTRIES HAVE NOW CLOSED FOR ALL FOUR COMPETITIONS AND MYSTERY SHOPPING IS TAKING PLACE.

There have been a number of changes made to the competition process this year so if you’ve participated before make sure you read the following as the process is a bit different:

1. Stores submit an entry form and entry fee of $55.00. 

If you are an NZRA member or if you participated in TOP SHOP last year, you will receive an entry pack in the post a few days before the entry period opens.  You can either complete the hard copy version of the entrant form or you can enter online, (the link will be supplied here once the entries open).

ALL RETAILERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER so if you don't receive an entry pack it doesn't mean you can't enter, it just means we don't have you on our database.  So, you can either enter online, (the link will be supplied here once the entries open) or phone us on 0800 24 25 24 and we'll send you out an entry pack.

2. Once entered a store is sent an entrant pack. 

This contains an entrant banner which is to be displayed in the store.  This year, entrants do not have to send in photos.

3. All entrants are mystery shopped by Fieldforce Mystery Shopping. 

The $55.00 entry fee goes towards the cost of Fieldforce mystery shopping your store.  You will receive this score sheet back at the end of the competition.

4. Based on your mystery shopping results and your entrant form, up to five finalists are chosen per category.

There are 11 TOP SHOP® categories.  Two of the categories (the Outstanding Customer Service Award and the Innovation Excellence in Retail Award) you cannot choose to enter - the results and entry form responses determine who are the finalists in these categories.

5. The finalists will be advised and publicly announced 6 weeks prior to the Awards functions. 

Finalists are required to send in photos for publicity usage.
All entrants will be advised who the finalists are.

6. The judging panel mystery shops the finalists and determines for each category who are the two runners up and the category winners.

7. The judging panel mystery shops the category winners and decides who is the Overall TOP SHOP winner.

8. All is revealed at the Award functions!!
