TOP SHOP® Judging Criteria

A top class store should provide the customer with a complete shopping experience.  You want your customers to come away from the store feeling very positive about their experience - that they have been valued as long term customers.

Stores are judged on the following criteria:

Store layout and merchandise  including window displays
  signage
  cleanliness
Service experience  meet and greet
  product knowledge
  closing the sale
Customer relationship building
Atmosphere and overall impression

The scorings are weighted very much on the service and customer relationship building aspects, although all factors are taken into account in the overall scoring of each store.

Food and Beverage category entrants are also required to show initiatives regarding improving food safety for customers.

The Top Shop judging sheet gives us a broad outline of what our staff need to achieve.  Top Shop gives us an easy way to explain to staff how to approach a customer and get a sale.  You are only as good as your weakest staff member.
