Submissions to Parliament
The Government Relations role of the Association involves liaison between the retail industry and Government and related administrative agencies on a wide range of issues likely to affect the retail industry in New Zealand.
This involves:
- regular meetings with Government Ministers, opposition spokespeople and senior officials from a broad spectrum of Government Agencies;
- preparation of submissions and appearances before Parliamentary Select Committees;
- regular interviews with the news media, including print, radio and television;
- representation of the interests of the retail industry on various government Committees and Working Parties.
