2010 TOP SHOP® Process

2010 TOP SHOP Process

Before entering the TOP SHOP Retail Excellence Awards, we would strongly recommend you familiarise yourself with the TOP SHOP® Process so that you understand what happens during each phase of the competition.

Once your entry is received by the New Zealand Retailers Association, you will be sent an entrant folder containing the following:

  • A 2010 TOP SHOP® Entrant Poster
  • Information on how to maximise your profile as an entrant
  • Information and an invitation to the Regional Awards function
  • NZRA brochures
  • Fliers from each of the sponsors

Following the closing date for entries, entrants will be mystery shopped by Market Pulse International.  It is estimated that it will take around five weeks to complete the mystery shopping for each Region.

Based on the mystery shopping results, finalists are selected.  The finalists are advised and are sent 2010 TOP SHOP® Finalists Poster.  At this time, finalists will be required to send in three photos of their store for use at the awards presentation.

The category finalists are then mystery shopped again by a committee of judges who will determine each category winner and Overall TOP SHOP® Retail Excellence Awards winner.

Finalists for each category and category winners are announced at the Gala Awards dinner, culminating in the Overall TOP SHOP® Retail Excellence Award winner for 2010.

Post event, a range of PR and media coverage will take place ensuring finalists and winners are promoted as widely as possible.
